Letter to Mayor and Committee regarding bidding on ADA compliance contract

Here's the text of my March 8, 2012 letter to Mayor Sharp and the Fairfield Township Committee questioning the manner in which a public contract was awarded.

Dear Mayor Sharp and Committee members:

I am in receipt of Mr. Selb's March 7, 2012 response to my Open Public Records Act (OPRA) request.  For your ready reference, I have converted it into a PDF file and placed on-line here.  Below, I will refer to this 59-page PDF document by page number (i.e. (PDF15) meaning page 15 of the PDF document).

I write today because I believe that the Township's recent award of contracts to various vendors to make the municipal building ADA compliant may have fallen short of the Local Public Contract Law (LPCL) requirements.

May 8, 2011 letter to Mayor re Joe Veight's roofer

My May 8, 2012 letter, which resulted in the News of Cumberland County's article of the same day entitled "Letter raises possible accusations of 'impropriety' against former Fairfield Township administrator Joe Veight" is on-line here.

Fairfield denies access to records regarding Joe Veight because they are "part of an investigation."

On May 8, 2012, I submitted an Open Public Records Act (OPRA) request to Township Clerk Carla Smith.  I copy of my request is on-line here.  I made the request because I heard rumors that former Township Administrator Joseph Veight had a) repaid the Township for some over-payments that were previously paid to him and b) been involved in some sort of improper dealings with a company called Townsware Computer Services in Vineland.     (I hasten to add that I had and have no evidence that Mr. Veight is or was involved in anything illegal, unethical or in any way deceptive.  Rather, I believe that the best method of combating rumors is to gather evidence to demonstrate their truth or falsity.)
